If you truly need them and commit to them.

There’s a ton of cynicism around New Year’s resolutions these days, as if anyone needs to hear that! The last thing you want when trying to overcome a problem area in your life is someone telling you that you can’t use the New Year for a “New you”. Just scratch that, if you need the mental benchmark of a New Year to clean out all the old ways of last year then go for it damnit. Many of us often need mental incentives to get through the rough spots in life. It’s not only new years that we use as a marker to help us reach our goals, some people choose to quit smoking before their next birthday, or be rich, or married by a certain age.  If those types of markers encourage you to push harder to reach your goal who’s to judge?  Definitely not someone who hasn’t already reached the height of human existence. Don’t let anything discourage you from reaching whatever goal(s) it is you set out to achieve. And if this happens to be your second or more shot at it here’s a tip, start now! Whether New Years is your benchmark or some other calendar date, the more momentum you have when racing towards that barrier the more force you’ll have to knock it down. I’m sure it’s “cliché” to say but really, don’t put off anything for tomorrow or next week if you are able to start working on it right now. Time is the most precious resource we have in life and like everything that we hold precious we should use it wisely.

The world will test your ambition, your dedication to your goals, your vision, they may mock your ideas, dismiss your ideals, they will test your patience, your resolve, persuade you to divulge in flagrance, you may find yourself alone, in places far from home, in situations that the comfort zone won’t condone, no one may see the blood, sweat, and tears you shed to make sure you bring home the bread, you could quit but instead you shall continue to tread on roads un-led on days un-fed on victories un-said but it ain’t all for nothing, we don’t do it all for frontin’ we stand the tests of times, and keep grinding big dreams ain’t made for small minds_ end.

exodica Stay wavy

Einstein said that “the only thing that you absolutely have to know is the location of the library” now that’s wavy!

The concept that all things in the known universe are different forms of energy correlates to the idea that all things are made up of waves of energy, wavy action! I’ve always loved Einstein and his contribution to the wealth of knowledge & understanding we have today. At Exodica our premise is that education and knowledge are foundations to an improved quality of life. On top of that we all have our own wave, our own style, our own way of interacting with the universe. The more we understand ourselves and our environments, the better we can hang 10 out here in the ocean of life. We are capable of great things when we put our minds to it, that much is clear. What we would be wise to aim to accomplish is clearing our minds and putting ourselves to use to achieve greater things for the sake of humanity. Do it in style, do it with love, do it with compassion, and passion, do it all day everyday – Stay Wavy.

darkness

On this episode of Breaking Limitations we talk about the state of gloominess that is ever so present in the world. It almost seems like an epidemic, like nobody ever wants to get sick of feel bad but somehow when this gloominess is present around us it has a way of drawing us in and latching on to us whether we’re aware of it or not and that’s dangerous just like any other infection if we succumb to this darkness then we harbor it and possibly pass it on to the people we come in contact with including our loved ones. The good news is that we don’t have to succumb to this gloominess we don’t have to ever feel down if we don’t wish to, Lou Holtz said that life is 10% of what happens to you and 90 % of how you react to it. So we’re going to confront this gloominess and consider a way to react to it without being taken by it.

Whatever darkness or down-ness that appears in our minds and in our lives most often comes from being exposed to and absorbing the darkness that we come in contact with and directly being exposed to dark or negative people for long periods of time. No one is perfect but we all have a choice in what paths we take no matter how rough life can get. And from my own personal experiences life can get really rough. But if we decide to react with negative choices versus proactive ones and habitually think negative thoughts, then over time we surrender our ability and our right to shine. We become dark. We see this in the world in people who for any reason choose to harbor negativity in any given situation even when it’s right or much simpler to take a positive outlook, some people seem to promote negativity in their actions and the way they speak and think. I encounter this frequently whenever I’m around a number of people who aren’t happy in their own lives and tend to spread their unhappiness to other people. (And being happy in your life is an entire topic for another discussion, maybe I’ll follow up with that topic in episode 3) But honestly it’s always present everywhere, it’s the exact opposite of being light, and happy and free and just being who you were destined to be. We have to be weary of negative people, people that try to draw you in to gossip about other people who are around, or try to get you to be an enabler of their negative ways of thinking or doing. Negativity takes away from everything, and positivity adds to everything, it’s   But we also have a tendency to bring ourselves down by dwelling too heavily on our past mistakes and convincing ourselves that our futures will follow the same trend as unfortunate events from our past or our less experienced selves. Groucho Marx said “blessed are the cracked for they shall let the light in” its OK that we are not perfect but even in times when all seems dark we have to keep the inner torch lit for our own survival. Keep moving forward and never move backwards, and if you’re thinking like “yeah easier said than done” then I will challenge you, when you are facing you darkest times just find one good thing and I bet you it will change your outlook and if you can’t find one here is one. You are alive and at this moment everything is in the past, and that gives you at least one opportunity to be proactive and move forward as opposed to looking bad into the dark.

How all of your dreams are within your grasp in your current lifestyle.

exodica how to live the lifestyle you want

exodica Lifestyle

Exodica Lifestyle, how the brand promotes better quality lifestyle.

5 ways to achieve the lifestyle you want.

Whether we define it as such or not, we all have bucket lists. We all have things that we dream about doing or just want to do in the short term or the long term. Many dreams go unfulfilled dues to a few missteps that can be easily avoided if we just apply a bit of planing, patience, and practice we can achieve the lifestyles we want. Below are 5 ways to achieve the lifestyle you dream about.

  1. List your mission.
    • What are the things you want to do in your lifestyle? List them out, start with a good size list roughly 10-15 goals or missions you want to accomplish in your lifestyle. This could be taking a trip to Disneyland, moving to a better area, buying a new car, starting your own business. This list should not be limited in relation to where you currently are in life. This list should contain your wildest dreams. Dream big.
  2. Define the details.
    • What resources do your dreams require? This part may take detailed research but this is the first most important piece in planning out your missions. You need to know what it will actually take to bring your dreams to reality. This could include; improving your credit, acquiring a specific amount of money for your goal, partnering up with the right people to achieve a group goal or just to make a specific experience more fun (vacation), you may need to clear some things up if there is something preventing you from getting a passport or license. Goal by goal you need to go over all of the details accurately so that you know what your dealing with in the pursuit of achieving your dreams/goals. If you miss any of the details in this step there could potentially be unforeseen variables that come out later on once you get started that could set you back and potentially threaten your mission. So be as precise as possible, recruit some help if need be. For instance you could call a travel agency for general info about a specific trip you want to take. Or talk to a tax professional if your thinking about starting a business that require taxation.
  3. Identify your resources and potential resources.
    • Money isn’t the only valuable thing out there, when talking about achieving goals, time and skill are equally important. Besides the cash that you can put away to achieve your goals, how much extra time can you leverage that could possibly go towards acquiring more resources. Could you pick up a second part time job? Do you have unique skill that you could make money with in your free time? Do you know people who have achieved the goals you are aiming for that would possibly help you achieve your goals for a bit of your time to help them with any of their other missions? How resourceful are you? Are you good at finding deals or know someone who is, that is a valuable resource when taking on any large projects. Once you know the resources you have you can determine how much further you need to go to get to your goal.
  4. What can you do to make your goals more achievable.
    • Sometimes this is the hard part, mainly because it can require change. Another reason that many goals go unrealized is because we put off our own growth for “later” or for one reason or another we just don’t give it our all. In this case we are talking about our very own personal goals that we want to see realized, so if you aren’t willing to give it you all here then it’s all just wasted time. If you know you could potentially get a better paying job, or increase the income from your side business by acquiring and applying some new skills then now is the time to go after those new skills. The longer you put off growth the longer you put off your dreams. Sometimes it’s just about doing more than is asked of you to get where you want to be. Successful people know the importance of doing more than is asked, the quickest way to become more valuable to the people who have financial interest in you is give them more than they expect (test it out). Look at other areas of your life where you could do a little more for your own growth, do more than you expected your self to do whether it’s at work, in the gym, with your peers, in class, be more valuable in the areas that will help you grow to potentially see your dreams come to fruition more solidly.
  5. Set a realistic timeline.
    • We may have a tendency to want things right now or before long but in most cases fastest is always best. Going on that $8,000 vacation might be epic but if you want it to go exactly as you envision then a year or two is not a bad time frame to make sure all the details are met and all of the bases are covered for it to happen. On the other hand, if you know you can pull off buying that new car by next President’s Day sale by doing a little more from now til then, in no way should you hold yourself back from getting there. If you followed the first 4 steps then by now you should be able to accurately project how long it will take you to accomplish your dreams in a realistic and most likely to happen fashion. This is how to live the lifestyle you want and dream about. Anything is possible if you put your heart, mind and energy to it. Good luck AND GET TO IT…

Exodica Castles or Crumbles

Exodica Castles or Crumbles

Exodica Streetwear Philosophy.

Alpha Type.

Our minds are our constructs, our evolving tool to work out and work through life. Depending on how we assemble our constructs will determine if we end up with a castle or a pile of crumbles. Castles are known to stand the tests of time and most of what life can throw at them, they are solid, strong, and beautiful structures. Structures built of less quality and detail can barely compare to the lifespan and usefulness of castles, if you built a comparable size unit of wood and shingle it would last only a quarter of the life span (if that) of the stone and mortar castle and will eventually crumble. Like the construction of these buildings we build our minds, we choose what materials we will use to build our mental habitats, do we use fear, aggression, manipulation, deceit, or do we use wisdom, perseverance, tolerance, wit and the such. As we go through life and gain new experiences we adopt new materials that become a part of our constructs and though it is not the experiences themselves but the materials that we scavenge from those experiences that we decide to make apart of ourselves or at least our minds.

Any experience negative or positive can result in learning if we let it, and as long as we learn we can turn it into a positive future experience. The better we understand the concepts that we use in our thought processes the better our thought processes can suit us. Even the most enthusiastic person can be deemed a fool if their excited energy is haphazard and not directed to defined purpose. Whether the thought comes before the experience is a different discussion but either way all that we do in our lives is affected by and effects our thought processes. If we prejudge all of our potential experiences we will limit our perspective of what is available for us to actually experience and will go through life like the little superstitious nodes that only look at the ground to avoid stepping on any cracks totally avoiding the world that contains them and the lessons it has to teach. If we choose to stay open minded and fluid we gain discernment through life’s perils and triumphs and learn to harbor the tools necessary to continue an upward journey. While it is necessary for us to employ a level of judgement of our experiences to determine whether they are harmful or healthy for us, that level of judgment is an intellectual observatory one, not one of preconceived notions that we adopted because we heard someone else say it. Life is in intimate feeling process and the interactions are between life and us. You wouldn’t let someone who is challenged in sight lead you through a wild jungle at dusk would you?

The simplest way for us to adopt new materials for our constructs is to first observe them as we encounter them and then consider what their usefulness will be to us and others if we were to wield them as our own. The first time you were scared of something you learned fear, the first time someone gave you butterflies you knew what it was to be adored, the first time you had to overcome a challenge you knew what it was to overcome fear with courage. On the other hand we learned what it was to be let down, to be helpless, and to be hated. All of these experiences (and the rest) are what shape us into who we are to become, but it is really us who decides what shape we take because it is us who decides how we will build from our experiences. Ask yourself the question, are you building a castle or playing with crumbles?

Between working a 40+ hour a week day job, trying to stay active and healthy, start a business, and being a parent i’m always looking for some genuine free time to just kick it with my kids and live life. Then it hit me, my kids are growing up just as much a part of this business as they are apart of everything else in my life. They’re right over my shoulder while i’m sketching out new designs or asking a million questions while i’m illustrating designs on the computer. They are in and out of the lab while i’m printing T-shirts sometimes quiet as mice hanging around watching the process. My son even has his own T-shirt designs in his sketch book. I had to realize that they are growing up right alongside as the brand grows. I wonder what it looks like from a kid’s perspective watching your parent hustle 24/7 and bring you along for the ride, but it is great that they should get first hand experience on taking your ideas from imagination to manifestation. Maybe they are biased but they love the brand lol It’s always cool when we go out for the day and they pick their Exodica tees over anything else in their wardrobe.

At times, we tend to let the things that we can’t physically see blind us, hinder us, bind and fetter us from moving forward in life. Just because we can’t see through the walls into the next room does not mean that it isn’t filled with money, it also doesn’t guarantee that it is.

The universe is comprised of limitless potential, resulting in life being full of infinite possibilities. This means that anything can happen at any time, what it doesn’t mean is what you want to happen always will.

Life is about learning, and experiencing, growing and adventuring. It is ultimately a conversation between us, the universe and the creator. Our physical sight is limited to what is directly in front of us up to maybe a few hundred yards (extremely limited in the scheme of things) but we know we are much more than this, we feel it.

The true vision that will guide us through it all is the internal vision achieved via the heart. We must literally feel our way through the universe. Once we learn this we will learn to move in response to the universe and not stand in fright because our eyes can’t see the next clue for what our next step should be.

Take time to listen to your heart and see what it sees. This is how dreams are achieved, this is how we discover what our true potential is. The saying goes “believe half of what you see, and none of what you hear” ever wonder what the truth in statement really is. Victory is reserved for those with the heart to battle what life challenges them with.

As Always: Live, Love, and Learn

This past weekend I decided to get some play time in at my favorite mountain (thus far) Mountain Creek in Vernon NJ. For anyone who has always wanted to try it but never gave themselves a chance, you know what I’m going to say…Just Go For It! pick a resort, find a discount code for rentals and lift tickets if you can, pay for a lesson to learn the basics (they are available at nearly every ski resort) and have fun! let that be one more thing you check off on your conquer the world checklist.

I would have to write a book to share with you the experience of literally being as close to the top of the world as possible and swagging back down on a fly snowboard emblazoned with Exodica Logos but you can look for yourself. Hope you enjoy!

How Exodica’s message of Life, Love, and Knowledge aims to inspire a generation to live better.

At first glance it would seem that Exodica is just one of the myriad of T-shirt brands out there aimed at selling decorated apparel to the public. But underneath the unique street wear is what really defines Exodica, a meaning. The lifestyle brand that we are aspiring to create is one based on improving the quality of life, sharing love, and learning the most we can from our life experiences. As a company it is necessary for us to promote the brand, but as citizens it’s our responsibly to share with our peers the things we come across that may encourage, and inspire them to succeed at the dreams they hold most dear.

Starting a business independently is extremely tough, but what makes it worthwhile is when the purpose of the venture begins to be adopted by others who find value in the principles that it’s built upon. This video which was posted by one of our brand champions, {someone who began following the brand some time ago who shares many personal ideals which align with what Exodica stands for}, was a personal memoir of one his many adventures. In many ways this video inspires us to push harder to share the message of life, love and knowledge and is clear example of how we can inspire each other to dream further. I have yet to explore the mountains and shores of California but after watching this I am even more motivated to plan an adventure there. Just want to say huge thanks for sharing your experience with us Jay. And to you… Live, Love, and Learn!!

Exodica Fall Gear

Exodica Fall Gear

Why autumn is a great time to re-calibrate yourself

It’s officially autumn, we’re a little over a week into the fall season, where the heat is just beginning to taper off, but things are already significantly slowing down.  It’s easy to get bummed about the end of summer as many people are already dreading winter, but we’re here to say don’t set yourself up for that kind of sabotage.  The fall is a great time to get your thoughts in line and re-strategize your goals to forward your success.

Soon we’ll be adding an hour to our clocks, the days will seem to get shorter and the nights will appear to get longer.  A common struggle is finding things to keep us occupied during the cooler seasons as we will not be spending as much time outdoors as we do in the warmer ones.  Granted everyone is not an entrepreneur or gym rat, athlete, etc.  Though everyone doesn’t have an autumn ritual that they will jump right in to when the seasons change it doesn’t mean that fall and winter can’t offer great opportunities for everyone to be productive at something that will help improve the quality of their lives.  The biggest idea here is to get started with something and keep it going.  We have heard the not so fun fact about how much of our lives we spend at a traffic light, think about how much time we spend pondering about things that we could do, but then we never actually do them.  Below I have three tips that might grant a bit of insight and motivation to get yourself into gear.

Tip #1: Organize your time.  If you have measurable amounts of more free time in the colder seasons then you can add that time to inventory and use it as a resource.  Log those extra hours on your calendar or schedule and put them to use on something you’ve been meaning to do.  Try a winter sport, read those books that you’ve been meaning to ready, take an online class to gain more knowledge in a subject of your interest, pick up jogging, or take the steps to start your own business.  Whatever you do just don’t waste your time being bored because you don’t have anything to do!

Tip #2: Stay inspired.  Many people already have activities and practices that they do specifically during fall in order to keep their minds and bodies occupied where they would otherwise be outdoors or just busy with activities that typically occupy our lives throughout the more energetic spring and summer seasons.  Staying inspired means keeping your mind, body, and spirit happy and active.  When I say spirit in this sense I mean the opposite of being a bump on a log, being in the spirit of things and feeling good about yourself and sharing that positive energy.  Something as simple as reading a good article can put you in a positive spirit, when you gain some new knowledge about a topic that you’re passionate about, most of the time you’re eager to put it to good use whether that be practicing new methods or sharing that with a group of people with similar interests.  It’s the positive energy that develops which is key.

Some people may have a difficult time identifying a solid activity that they could practice that would inspire them, well that’s kind of exciting in way.  Exploration is the hidden nectar of life (yes even when it’s giving you lemons) sometimes even our regular activities allude our enthusiasm, that’s when it’s time to try something new.  Check your local paper, believe it or not there are tons of activities during the fall. If you are in one of the PA, NJ, NY tri-state areas then you could probably have a new activity to do every weekend until spring, literally. Do some research, play around with some keywords on google; fall activities in PA, NY, NJ, CA, FL.  No matter where you are there is an entire culture of activities waiting for you to explore them.

Tip #3: Channel that energy for good use.  They don’t call autumn the harvest season for nothing!  We still have another whole season to get through before spring arrives, and here in the northeast as well as other places the in the world winters can be absolutely brutal!  Learn to harness the new found inspiration and turn it into positive energy you can use to fuel your life forward.  We all have room to grow in some area in our lives and more than likely that growth is going to take its share of effort.  If you are able to change your autumn gloom into motivational energy then apply those same techniques to utilize that energy in areas where you need them.  Transformational power is just that, transformative. It’s not limited to one thing or one area, you can use it to power all aspects of yourself where you need change.  That new activity you decided to pick up for fall, more than likely it’s helping in another area of your life you weren’t consciously planning to work on, but now you have a start in that area too.  For instance being bored may have caused you to take up reading, you always wanted to learn how to start a new business, now you have a practice of reading, so read about starting a new business.  Or maybe sitting around all fall and winter would normally cause you to snack more than normal and gain extra weight, you decided to take up jogging, jogging was the start of you getting in shape and moving toward that beach body you keep saying you’re going to get.  See how that works, it’s pretty cool!

Last week I had the great honor of performing with BFR on stage at the Trocodaro for the lyrically fit Showcase. It’s been more than 10 years since I performed onstage and I have to say it’s nice to know that I can still rock a crowd!  BFR killed it as they normally do performing two record cuts, the no hold bars #4 “Hard Work” feat Exoddus 😉 , And a new sick track titled Pour Up which is currently unreleased. Aside from the creative release of getting on stage and performing some lyrical madness its always a great experience to get out there with family, friends, and fans and just bask in the atmosphere of creativity, hustle, appreciation, and good fun energy. The family was out in heavy numbers supporting the movement as they always do. I hope everyone is reading this but you guys have to know that the love and support is immeasurable, there’s nothing better than having a strong support system rocking with you all the way front stage to encourage you to give it all you got. love you guys. Video should be posted soon from the performance so stay tuned and check back in. Also keep a look out for the new Spring gear set to start dropping soon.

Meditate on this,

In less than A week from now we will release the Men’s Cashmere Chromosomes Design which will debut on a two tone Black and Grey full length Raglan tee. Ladies Exodica Cashmere Chromosomes Tee

Newly released Cashmere Chromosomes design now available in the Shop!

After some Anticipation and quite a few inquiries, I am happy to announce the release of the women’s Cashmere Chromosomes one shoulder Flowy T Shirt. Back in December I released an exclusive customizable only version of the design which I posted via Instagram and Pinterest to show what some of our customers came up with when I put the option out there. I sometimes release designs early to our brand advocates as it is they who typically champion the products as soon as they are released, plus its always nice to show your customers that you really do appreciate them. The Cashmere Chromosomes design was inspired by the classic Jay-Z album Reasonable Doubt. Everything about that album and the era it was debuted in was about self expression and self empowerment.

These days I feel like its more important than ever to feel confident about who you are regardless of who every body else thinks you are or should be. The Cashmere Chromosomes design is as if to say “I am who I am, and I’m pretty Damn Awesome” don’t get it confused with being cocky we all know the difference between a person who is confident in themselves and their talents and a total douche. You don’t want to be the latter although I think there are T-shirts out there for those guys too. Seeing yourself as having Cashmere Chromosomes is an attitude, its to say that I was born great and I acknowledge my greatness, its a bit of hefty ideal to hold true to but hey greatness Isn’t for the faint of heart now is it.  With so much going on and so many people just going full speed all the time, sometimes it doesn’t take much to get caught up in the confusion of it all. What’s important is to keep in mind that whatever it is you choose to do in life, you were built for it, or else it wouldn’t be in your thought capacity to dream up! Just have to get up, go for it, and don’t let up.

Currently The Cashmere Chromosomes design is only available in the shop on this super soft, sexy flowing Tee for the ladies. Stay tuned for the next announcement regarding when this Super Smooth design is going to be released for the fellas. Don’t forget to drop me an email if you have any questions about the products, options, ordering, feedback, etc. email: talk2us@iexodica.com

Creating the Get Lucky exclusive Crew -from Sketch to Release

We recently released one of the thus far “hottest” designs of the new Exodica 2014 Collection titled “Get Lucky” Take a brief look into the process of creating this Dope Insta-Classic Piece.

As nearly all of my designs begin, I conceptualized the get lucky idea first in my thought space and then begin the sketching process in order to get the form and style of the piece I am aiming to create. Because I have to incorporate design principles into each piece, [so that it doesn’t come out like a piece of drawing slapped on a T-shirt] the sketching process involves some technical aspects of designing for apparel.

Once the sketch is done I usually show it my close peers and family to get some feedback and criticism on the concept. For this piece I have to say thanks to my BFR family for giving some great feedback, it’s always a plus when you have people with dope style to review your concept before creation. I remember we were in the studio working on an episode of “No Hold Bars” for the YouTube channel and we all got a bit distracted when showed what I was working on, on the laptop. That week’s No Hold Bars was official also! so back to the process, I think it took me roughly 12 hours to create the vector line work for the Get Lucky design and then get it colored, it maybe another hour or two for mastering the finished touches, size and placement.

All of the screen print designs I press solely in the Exodica In-house print shop, but since I have yet to dish out the chunk of change to get a DTG printer I sent this design away to my good friends in Sharon- Hill PA to work their magic and get my concept onto to some Premium Cotton Crew Neck sweatshirts. Working with an Outside printer is always a challenge mainly because you’re working to create one final piece based off of two separate configurations of equipment. The collaboration process is definitely a learning experience each time, and I look forward to collaborating with others to continue to bring more Crazy Dope concepts to the world. Once I received the printed crews back from the supplier and after the initial ecstatic shock of seeing another one of my concepts turn into a successful piece I took the final step of hand printing the get lucky tagline at the top of the design and curing the artwork so that it was ready for release.

The release of the Sweatshirt was an extremely limited release. I did so in order keep the exclusivity of some of the pieces I create special to our followers, and fans which I intend to do more of. It’s nothing greater than having something custom that compliments your style that you know won’t be copied by the mass public. I’m thinking about releasing a T-shirt or Tank for the spring/summer 2014 collection but that has yet to be decided. If there’s any left after your read this make sure you check out the shop to grab one before their all gone. And remember Luck comes un-expectantly, in the mean time, go out there and GET LUCKY.

Thanks again for checking out Exodica.

Exodica No Competition Explained

Exodica, No Competition

There is No Competition Other Than Myself

One of the newest designs to the 2013-2014 collection is the “There is No Competition” piece featured above on a Black Premium Cotton crew neck. This is one of the more self reflective pieces in the Exodica wardrobe. Some people want to know what inspired this design. Well its apparent that the nature of our current world or society is a highly competitive one. Everybody is competing for something, whether its attention, money, fame, a name, sports, etc. seems that the world is a highly energetic battleground crowded with combatants all amped up to get to the top.

Having to deal with that, whether it be at work, entrepreneurial pursuits, organized competition, or whatever, its easy to get jaded and possibly loose sight of what your even competing for. These days we have new rappers “starting beef” with seasoned vets, you have artists beefing with athletes, athletes beefing with celebrities and so on and so on. It’s kind of hard to tell what some of the competition is even for when the competitors aren’t even in the same lane. Aside from the obvious goal to be the best at your craft when it comes to a specific industry or group; the most important competition is for growth and progress no matter what industry you’re in or what your endeavors are. If we aim at being better than who we were yesterday, and growing further than where we were, we can begin to see that we are our only true competition, no one can ultimately defeat you unless you stop progressing past your deficits. Get knocked down you get up and strategize a way to overcome that person who was last defeated.

We have to have the confidence to know that we determine who our competition is, you look at a goal that you haven’t achieved and you prepare yourself for that goal. Who ever currently holds the title must now challenge themselves to reach a new level if they want to retain it!

There’s always going to be a guy/girl to your right and to your left, in front of you and to your rear fighting for their own purposes to get ahead at whatever it is. Question is always how much do you have in you to give it your all. Essentially you’re only competing with whatever it is that’s telling you cant do it, after discerning the external influences the only thing left is you.

Go for it!

West New York

It’s amazing when the universe grants you a glimpse of realization; your mind takes it and creates this vision in your imagination on how your human experience understands the meaning of that realization.  During an episode of Wild Amazon on Animal Planet, it occurred to me that on our infinitely small planet in this grand universe there’s multiple worlds occurring on it every second.  In that instant everything seemed to pause and my consciousness began to realize if there exist tribes in the Amazon and they currently survive on ways ancient to the present day metropolises than there is a possibility of multiple worlds happening simultaneously.  A thriving city like New York would never be able to survive in this world living by the ways of Amazonian tribes, but these two opposite worlds co-exist on planet Earth.  If there are multiple worlds present on Earth than there’s a possibility that multiple universes can also exist simultaneously, and if multiple universes can exist than anything and everything is absolutely possible.  All it takes is one choice forward and infinite possibilities will manifest.

Owl Funny Laugh

Laugh Bad Days Away

We all have our ups and downs, but there are some days when you are so consumed in your negativity that you infect everyone around you.  There’s never a good reason you should pass your bad mood to someone else and most of the times we are so obsessive in the negativity that we can’t help making someone else troubled too.  Then it becomes a vicious cycle because the person you angered goes on and angers someone else, and then that person angers someone else and so the malicious cycle spreads.  Don’t let a bad mood ruin your entire day; take control and push the negativity away…the secret is laughter.  It sounds too simple to be true, but speaking from experience I promise you it works!

Laughter has the power to eliminate your negativity by opening yourself up to let in positive energy.  Remember when you were a little kid and you were upset about something bad that happened and your mom would come in and give a you a big hug and kiss to push the bad feelings away…laughter is like a big hug and kiss from you mom, it has the power to get rid of negativity.  The only difference is you’re not a kid anymore so you have the power to cheer yourself up.  You know yourself best, so you know what you enjoy most.  When you’re having a terrible day turn to all of the elements that make you laugh and try your best to cheer yourself up.  It doesn’t hurt to try and in the end you might end the day with a huge smile on your face.

blk water

Recently I’ve had the privilege of being introduced to a bottle of water by blk, a mineral water infused with fulvic minerals, electrolytes, and alkaline…and yes the color of this water is black!  Despite its looks blk taste like regular water.  For those of you that have extremely sensitive taste buds you can slightly taste the minerals in the water, but if you’re like me you would believe you’re drinking a regular bottle of water if you close your eyes.  Besides the tremendously eye catching appearance blk has many benefits when compared to a regular bottle of water.

The fulvic minerals has multi-purposes in the human body.  It is a powerful antioxidant that reduces free radicals, increases your energy, it helps stimulate and rebuild your immune system, helps remove heavy metals out of your blood, and it helps increase your metabolism of proteins that contribute to the synthesis of DNA and RNA …just to name a few benefits.

The electrolytes infused in blk help maintain the electrical pulse in your body.  Your body is like a battery that requires an electrical charge.  It needs to keep an electrical pulse between the cells to maintain proper body functions such as muscle contractions like a beating heart.  When you sweat you lose electrolytes in your sweat, so replenishing electrolytes in your body is important especially if you work out regularly.

Alkaline is an important factor to maintain a proper pH balance in your body, it is the opposite of acidic.  The proper pH balance your body should maintain is 7.3.  When you eat foods with high acidic properties your body tries to balance itself by taking minerals from your body to keep the correct pH level.  Calcium is a readily available mineral in your body that reduces the acidity levels in your system, but the reduction of calcium can lead to osteoporosis.

So the next time you’re in the market for a bottle of water try blk…it’s more than just a bottle of water.

Exodica x Bullfight Ent

Last Thursday I had the satisfaction of attending a Hip Hop Showcase at the legendary Dobbs with my Boys from Bullfight Entertainment. As long as I’ve lived in Philly I’ve never been in this place until the other night. Not to mention that back in late 90″s early 2000’s I was ripping up the open mic scene with a bunch of other hungry artists. The vibe at the Dobbs was pretty cool everybody seemed hype-ly relaxed! A lot of nice talent out there from the tri-state, its good to know that people still follow their dreams and not just the main streams.

Surrounded by a great group of family and friends we definitely rocked out for the night. The Bullfight Ent. team came with the lyrics and the energy and surely added to the positive charge in the atmostphere. I can’t wait to see what comes next out of this camp, but you already know we watching close and supporting 100%. Big Shout out to @benjaminGifted for rocking the Brand. And S/O to everybody that came out to show love to local talent on the rise.

Kid Cudi feat. MGMT & Ratatat – “Pursuit of Happiness” from Paradoxal Inc on Vimeo.

Did anybody else see the cosmic chick at 3:35?!? I love this track by Kid Cudi, dude is definitely on his own level with it! Cudi definitely lets off a lot of personal steam in his music and still keeps it super creative. Kudos to Cudi, one day I am going do a track with this dude (hopefully he’ll give me a cosmic cousin discount!) We need more creative artists that actually bring art into the craft.

We’ll be waiting on the next album Cud’
